I've spent time in both! They're really different. Mexico City is enormous — around twenty-two million people in the metro area. Panama City is much smaller, closer to one point five million.

Absolutely. You can watch massive ships cross the Panama Canal in the morning, then be hiking in rainforest by the afternoon — all without leaving the city. There's Soberanía National Park right on the edge of town. The Casco Viejo neighborhood has beautiful colonial architecture too.
